Her pursuit is complicated when her colleague Sgt. Melody Talbot gets emotionally involved with a potential suspect. Although this 15th episode about Scotland Yard detectives Duncan Kincaid and Gemma James continues a story line spun since 1993's A Share in Death, it hints at enough background to stand alone. The Kincaid/James series is so successful that both detectives have earned their own Library of Congress subject headings, with actor and AudioFile Earphones Award winner Gerard Doyle regularly transforming the audiobook versions of their whodunits into gripping radio plays.
