Virginia Carey is running behind on her life plan. Pressure from her parents and friends leads her to take a job as a civilian tip-line operator at the local police station. Where better to go husband-hunting than surrounded by eligible officers? Virginia’s tendency toward infatuation, bordering on obsession, makes her more than willing to overlook the failings of the men around her, but when a caller gives her information suggesting that one of them is a serial killer, she must choose what’s more important: her hopes for the future or finding a murderer. Cuti makes her debut with a disturbing domestic thriller. This intricate story employs a narrator who is not only unreliable but often unhinged, spiraling into daydreams and delusions that make it difficult to discern fantasy from reality. Audiobook narrator Sarah Naughton expertly matches the story’s quick pace and compelling plot. The tone of her portrayal evolves along with Virginia, from naive to nefarious.
VERDICT This audio will appeal to listeners seeking an unnerving psychological suspense about compulsion and corruption. Recommended for fans of Colleen Hoover, Katie Sise, and Kelly J. Ford.

A truly beautiful idea in spirit, and definitely one that should be visited someday. But currently this system can barely staff its buildings and can't get its materials to those building in anything close to a timely manner. Buildings are shut down due to inadequate/unsafe staffing levels, and wait times for in transit holds are topping the 3 week point. Funding for such a project may come from grants or donations, but make no mistake the staff time and resource cost will be significant, and I don't know if I would call focusing on this over basic foundational community library functions a responsible use of taxpayer resources.
