[DEBUT] Out of the blue, Josh Hart, nerdy programmer and founder and CEO of Hook, a popular dating "app" company, selects Todd Kent, a brash young Wall Street investment banker, to take the business public. Todd, an arrogant player on many fronts, imagines this as the deal to make his fortune and secure him a top position both in business and in the beds of every woman he desires. Todd carefully chooses a small talented team, including associate Tara Taylor, whose gratefulness he intends to exploit, and flies with them to San Francisco to meet with Josh and Hook's CFO Nick Winthrop. Todd's overestimation of his own worth and underestimation of others, particularly Josh, who proves a brilliant power broker, leads to some surprises. When other tragic and unforeseen circumstances come to light, the $14 million deal of a lifetime begins to falter.
