In this book, he presents an overview and state-by-state guide of one specific body of water: the Mississippi River. Klinkenberg also focuses on the human impact on the river and what this means for not only for the river’s future but also for the years ahead for humans, plants, and animals. In the second half of the book, Klinkenberg provides a listing of parks and their featured highlights, contact information, and directions to see the river from different viewpoints from each state that borders it.
