The Sonderberg family, while on a vacation through the Nevada desert, picks up an ethereal hitchhiker named Mouse. As they soon find out, she is on a journey to soothe and heal the Spinner, the creator (and maintainer) of the fabric of reality. Now along for the transdimensional, transuniversal ride to the vanishing point (the point in the universe where the Spinner creates reality), the Sonderbergs, Mouse, and a few others picked up along the way traverse the various threads of reality on a perilous mission to save
all the worlds in all the dimensions. Narrator Joel Richards performs well, given the one-dimensional characters and, at times, slow and plodding story.
VERDICT Fans of road trip movies and sf might consider this work interesting, but most listeners will find it hard to cope with a group of unlikable, flat characters for 12 and a half hours.
