Where Is God? Christian Faith in the Time of Great Uncertainty

According to Carrón, a Spanish Catholic priest and theologian based in Milan, owing to the increased influence of postmodern thought and the decreased number of people involved in religious organizations in the West, the church is struggling to engage with nonbelievers successfully. One Catholic organization, Communion and Liberation, seeks to bridge this gap, yet has received considerable criticism. This book contains material from a lengthy interview with Vatican scholar Andrea Tornielli and Carrón, who has led this organization for the past 14 years. Carrón believes the church needs to return to its biblical roots, in which encounters with Christ transformed people’s lives. Likewise, he maintains that Christians today should be examples through their vital, active, and empowering faith. Carrón also argues that the Roman Catholic church needs to cultivate this kind of engaged, fresh, and lively spirituality, ideas that also seem to resonate with evangelical Christians.
