The Puglisis (
See You at the Campground) are back with the second book in their “Where Should We Camp Next” series. The married cohosts of the
RV Atlas podcast lead readers on a grand tour of the national parks in the U.S. This book groups the parks by state and region and includes recommendations of campgrounds, both inside and outside of the parks’ boundaries. The authors’ knowledge of each location is detailed and up to date. They suggest hikes and other activities at each site, while alerting prospective campers to temperature swings, bears, and other challenges to prepare for. The book also suggests particular campgrounds based upon readers’ camping style and activities of interest. This resource will be most useful for families camping in RVs. With the exception of one campsite at a national park that is ADA accessible and two trails that are wheelchair-friendly, the needs of those with mobility issues are not addressed. Some trails are vaguely described as “accessible,” but it is not clear how that is defined.
VERDICT Recommended as a secondary purchase for larger collections.
