As their names suggest, Beat and Melody are the children of rock royalty, with each of their mothers being one half of the defunct duo Steel Birds. When television producers propose a live reunion of the band, Beat is skeptical, but pressure from a blackmailer forces his hand to make him rope his mother in. He hasn’t seen Melody in 14 years, but she’s his only hope for the Christmas Eve concert that can save his family from scandal. Meanwhile, Melody has been pining for Beat since they were 16, but can he bring her out of her shell and reunite the Steel Birds in time? Bailey (Unfortunately Yours) presents a plot-driven contemporary romance about celebrity, stigma, and self-actualization. Despite the title, the holiday theme is only reflected in the temporal setting, leading up to Christmas. Narrators Brooke Bloomingdale and James Gloucester are an engaging pair, expressively portraying every emotion, from playful to passionate. The sex scenes sizzle.
