EBSCO Debuts NoveList Plus

A good thing is now better: EBSCO March 26 announced the premiere of NoveList Plus, which includes “everything in NoveList, as well as additional coverage for nonfiction titles.” Nonfiction genres include Adventure, Arts & Entertainment, Biography & Memoir, True Crime, Business & Money, Current Events & Politics, and Sports & Competition The enhanced product has a slew of new features including:
  • Information on more than 200,000 titles, including over 60,000 nonfiction titles selected for their appeal to the general reader (approximately 20,000 new titles are added each year).
  • Reading lists covering all genres and reading levels for fiction and nonfiction titles, as well as ongoing tracking of over 500 awards lists.
  • Continued coverage of thousands of adult and juvenile, fiction and nonfiction series.
  • A new interface with a single search bar that covers the entire database in one step.
  • “My Folders and Alerts” so librarians and patrons can create, annotate, and share their own lists.
  • Customized feature content such as Author Read-alikes, Book Discussion Guides, BookTalks, and Feature Articles by the top industry names.
  • Genre Outlines and the Popular Fiction CheckList.
NoveList's Duncan Smith said that Novelist Plus will do for nonfiction what NoveList does for fiction. “Adding nonfiction to the readers' advisor's repertoire with NoveList Plus allows librarians to provide even more answers to the question, 'what do I read next?'”
