Cauffiel (Eye of the Beholder) here tells the story of Cathy Wood and Gwen Graham, who were convicted of murdering six of their patients at the Alpine Manor Nursing Home in Grand Rapids, MI, in the 1980s. Recounting how they ended up in Grand Rapids, found work at the manor, and became involved with each other, the audiobook's alternating character perspectives make it slightly difficult for listeners to get their bearings on which woman's point of view is being narrated. Reader Pete Cross's melodic voice does a good job portraying manipulative, drama-loving Cathy and young, loyal Gwen. VERDICT Patrons who enjoy true crime stories, such as those by Ann Rule or Gregg Olsen, might want to try this.
