HarperCollins Donating Oprah Pick to Libraries

By LJ Staff

Oprah's Book Club continues to shine on libraries: HarperCollins generously is donating copies of the Big O's latest pick - Sidney Poitier's The Measure of a Man: A Spiritual Autobiography - to American Library Association (ALA) member libraries. According to ALA, the book "will be sent free of charge by HarperCollins (www.harpercollins.com) to ALA member public libraries, community college libraries, and high school media centers." Since its 1996 launch, publishers have donated more than 500,000 free copies of Oprah's selections to libraries. Additionally, Oprah.com is providing tips for organizing book groups, discussion guides for all the book club titles, and info on other book clubs across the country.
