HighBeam Research has cut a deal with commercial search services provider LookSmart that will make more than a million articles from its Research Library archive available over the latter's FindArticles service. HighBeam says its research engine 'fills the gap between search engines and high-end information services.' The HighBeam Library archive includes 32 million articles and images from more than 2800 newswires and newspapers; business, consumer and industry magazines and journals; transcripts; images; and reference sources going back as far as 23 years. Under the agreement, LookSmart users can search and view article abstracts from the HighBeam archive for free, and they can sign up for a free trial to view full-text articles and use the research tools available to HighBeam Research members.
