This is a quality video history of the U.S. Navy SEALs (Sea, Air, Land) from their inception as Naval Combat Demolition Units for the Normandy Invasion through their evolution as Underwater Demolition Teams in the Pacific in World War II and the Korean War to the special warfare units of Vietnam and the elite forces operating today. Archival footage, graphics, maps, and interviews with former SEALs, including Medal of Honor recipients, are nicely edited together and narrated by veterans' advocate actor Gary Sinise. Among the many action sequences is a detailed reconstruction of SEAL Team 6's 2011 assault on Osama bin Laden. Also shown are details of the rigorous military training, physical conditioning, and live-fire tactical practice that make the SEALs today's truly unique special warfare unit.
VERDICT This video is highly recommended for general adult audiences and for inclusion in military history collections.
