Patriotic Posters Now Placed on the Web

By LJ Staff

A project of the University of Minnesota Libraries and the Minneapolis Public Library (MPL), "A Summons to Comradeship," 6000 posters from World Wars I and II are being made accessible online and will be searchable by theme, subject, or keyword. Those 6000 posters represent three-quarters of the collections at the two libraries, which happen to contain two of the most significant collections of such posters--and in the same city. The university owns 6000 items and MPL has nearly 2000 items. The project is funded by an Institute of Museum and Library Services National Leadership Grant for Preservation or Digitization.
