The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, Simi Valley, CA last week received more than an estimated 100,000 citizens, who lined up for hours each day to pay their last respects to the president, who died June 6. After several days in state, Reagan was moved to Washington, DC, for public viewing in the U.S. Capitol building's rotunda followed by funeral services at the city's National Cathedral. Reagan was returned to California on Friday for a private burial on the library's grounds. The library was assisted in hosting mourners by nearby Moorpark College, which cancelled two days of classes to provide parking for the masses viewing the casket. Additionally, the bugle used by Army Sergeant Major Woodrow English to blow taps at the president's funeral will become part of the library's permanent collection.
