Connally (aka S.C. Perkins, author of the “Ancestry Detective” mysteries) sets her new series in Regency-era London. Petra Forsyth, daughter of the Earl of Holbrook, is a feminist before her time. After losing her fiancé in an accident three years earlier, she announces that she will never marry but instead plans to simply enjoy her social position. When local gossip suggests that a longtime friend accidentally drowned due to her unbalanced mental state, Petra is shocked.
