All’s Fair in Love and War

Bridgerton meets The Sound of Music in Heath’s (the “Wild Warriners” and “Merriwell Sisters” romances) series starter. Having found himself in the role of caretaker, Captain Harry Kincaid is overwhelmed by his sister’s three children and their outsized dog. Harry can’t control their rowdy antics, so he does the sensible thing and hires Georgina as governess. However, Georgina and Harry seem to not see eye to eye when it comes to the children, as Georgina is less interested in control and more committed to making her charges’ lives full of joy. However, as time passes, the attraction between the two grows. The audio is charmingly narrated by Eva Feiler and Shane East, with each capturing the characters’ distinct and vibrant personalities. With subtle yet natural accents and excellent timing, the narrators communicate the characters’ gentleness, honesty, and the pressure they feel to balance desire with duty.
