An Ambush of Widows

Kirsten North and Flora Zhang, neither one acquainted with the other, learn that their husbands have been murdered in a warehouse in Austin, TX. What brought together Adam Zhang (co-owner of a venture capital firm in Austin) and Henry North (a freelance security expert from New Orleans)? And who would want to kill them? Burdened by her own past, Kirsten travels to Austin to confront Flora—unaware that she’s being tailed by a hit man with a wife about to give birth. Meanwhile, Flora has her own burdens—a squalling child whom only a neighbor can calm, and a young assistant (a distant cousin of Adam’s) who’s living with the Zhang family. Her husband’s partner and his wife are in the mix, as is Kirsten’s foster brother, who works for a notorious crime family. Soon, Kirsten and Flora, aided and hindered by powerful forces, must come to terms with the secret lives of their spouses while trying to save themselves.
