"Bonnet books," or fiction set in Amish communities, continue to have strong appeal. Whether the reader is interested in the simpler lifestyle, the strong faith, or, in the case here, the finding and reclaiming of romantic love, this genre has become a staple of inspirational fiction. The three selections are equally strong in character, plot, and content. The characters struggle with good and bad decisions and with challenges to their faith. True to a good romance, everyone is happy in the end, and the reader is satisfied. Brooke Sanford admirably portrays the many characters, with the strongest showing coming out in the women's roles. One negative is distracting and ill-chosen music bridging both the chapters and the novellas, which sounds more appropriate for a 1960s TV soap opera. Overall, recommended for fiction collections especially where inspirational fiction is popular. Highly recommended for Amish fiction collections.—J.
