Lemmon’s entry into the “Texas Cattleman’s Club” series, after Vacation Crush by Yahrah St. John, is an amnesia story, which takes the time to make the concept work. Vic Grandin and Aubrey Collins broke up years ago, but a chance encounter reignites their passion, just in time for Aubrey to lose her memory and believe that the two of them are still together. Lemmon juggles a lot of story elements easily, creating a compelling love story within the somewhat outrageous plot elements. She also manages to pick up threads from other recent entries in the series easily, weaving the town of Royal into the story without having it overwhelm Vic and Aubrey’s story.
VERDICT Lemmon’s (Million-Dollar Consequences) appealing character work imbues this story with heart.
