When a series of nightmares persuades her she needs to look into her past, she travels to Evergreen, AZ, where her parents died 30 years ago. Threatening events convince Sheriff Jackson Redmond to step in and help Aimee solve the cold case of her parents’ disappearance before it’s too late.
VERDICT Though the mystery of Aimee’s past on its own might be enough to keep readers turning the pages, a tepid romance and the clumsy attempts on the heroine’s life in the present make this a rather lackluster reading experience overall.
