The sixth "Haunted Yarn Shop" cozy mystery (after
Knot the Usual Suspects) finds Kath Rutledge and her group getting ready for the opening of an arts and crafts emporium in Blue Plum, TN. One of the "shopettes," run by Belinda Moyer, is rumored to be a treasure trove of antique linens. Kath gets in for a sneak peek before opening, and while most of the items are uninteresting, there's an exquisite heirloom that catches her eye and spirit. By the next day, the piece has disappeared—then reappears in the form of partially burned shreds. On opening day, Belinda is found murdered. Theories abound, but Kath and her intrepid group of knitters, plus the shop's resident ghost Geneva, are hot on the trail in no time.
VERDICT Though the series as a whole is great fun, combining needlework, a cat, a ghost, and food, this supercozy mystery can easily stand on its own. It's practically guaranteed that those who like this entry will want to read the entire series.
