Dracula: A Full Cast Audio Drama

Irish playwright Deane’s adaptation of Bram Stoker’s classic epistolary novel first hit the stage in 1924. Revised in 1927 by American writer Balderston, Deane’s script became the only authorized version of Dracula and was the basis for a Broadway play and the iconic 1931 movie, both starring Bela Lugosi. It tells the story of vampire hunter Abraham Van Helsing’s desperate efforts to save Lucy Seward from becoming Count Dracula’s next victim. In this version of the classic story, a talented full cast, including Qarie Marshall, Steve Wojtas, Sarab Kamoo, and Dez Walker, provides an immersive, atmospheric audio experience. The many narrators create the feeling of a vibrant theatrical production rather than a simple reading. At times, listeners may be taken out of the story when the play’s own narrator offers commentary to set the scene, but these moments are easily overlooked once the story begins anew.
