Vaughn returns with book ten in her "Kitty Norville" series. Kitty, a werewolf DJ, is heading to London to give the keynote at a conference on paranormal studies. With her husband, Ben, and friend Cormac, she becomes involved in a deadly vampire power struggle that puts them all at risk. Tension between human protesters and the conference participants also causes trouble for Kitty. The novel's old-world setting allows for ancient vampires and references to historic events, and the backstory provided is enough to fill in new readers without being annoyingly redundant. Marguerite Gavin does an excellent job voicing many different accents and keeps the suspense factor high.
VERDICT Fans of previous Kitty books will not be disappointed, and newcomers to the series will also enjoy this title.
