Mayluna

On a plane, headed to a sold-out concert, Carter Wills and the rest of the members of English alt-rock band Mayluna speak to an interviewer about the band’s past: their meteoric rise, their longevity, and the influence that their first album, Sigma Five, had on the music world. In her own home, Evie finally talks to her grown children about her past. She had been a music reporter as a young woman but gave up her career after marrying and having children. However, in the days after their father’s passing, Evie’s daughter realizes that a famous picture of a young Carter, working on Sigma Five with Mayluna while a “mysterious woman” watches, actually depicts a younger version of her mother, watching the man she loved, as he created enduring art. In two different strands of the story, Carter and Evie describe how they came together, fell apart, and came together again.
