One Last Shot

Emerson and Theo made a pact in high school, agreeing that if they weren’t married to others, they would marry each other when they turned 28. Emerson, a world-famous supermodel recovering from past sexual trauma, hasn’t seen Theo, her high school sweetheart, for over a decade. When she is selected to appear in a photo campaign in Italy, she fights tooth and nail for Theo to be hired as a photographer, but she is deeply unsure how the reunion will go. The two characters begin a four-day journey that puts their feelings to the test as they encounter one obstacle after another. Will the two finally be able to heal from the past and find their happily ever after? Brittany Pressley and Sean Patrick Hopkins narrate the parts of Emerson and Theo, respectively, while debut author Cayouette reads her author’s note. The narrators enhance Cayouette’s tender story, adding compelling emotional depth. Their character portrayals capture the characters’ growth, from prickly to cautiously hopeful to openly loving.
