Meg is devastated after her husb
and leaves her for another woman. Her best friend, Annie, knows that Meg needs a distraction and introduces her to pickleball. The game is addictive, and being active outdoors does lift Meg’s mood, as do the new friends she’s making on the courts. Pickleball quickly becomes Meg’s lifeline. When rumors begin to swirl about the courts being removed to make way for a wildlife park, the pickleballers—and Meg—are indignant. How dare the city destroy something so popular just to make way for birds! Even worse, the environmental consultant working on the project happens to be someone Meg made out with recently—an anonymous, hot stranger she’s been fantasizing about ever since. If only there were a way to have pickleball and romance. This is an amusing read, full of puns and situational comedy. Meg and Ethan’s road to romance is rocky, with backslides and misunderstandings, though obviously ending in an HEA.
