DEBUT “Woman warrior” Cora Walker is stationed in Benghazi, Libya, in 2012, where she saves four American comrades from a melee. Sixteen years later, she has left government defense work and is head of security for the Speaker of the House. This puts her in the crosshairs of U.S. President Locke, who has lost reelection but refuses to leave office, arresting some members of Congress and declaring himself supreme leader for four more years. He also neutralizes the FBI and other agencies and calls on his supporters to march on the Capitol and forcibly eliminate the opposition, including the Speaker. One of Cora’s Benghazi comrades, now a congressman, is intent on saving the country by assassinating Locke. Amidst the widespread violence, Cora must keep the Speaker safe while trying to save the despotic president as well, in hopes of restoring democracy.
