The first book in a spin-off of the popular “Tier One” series by Andrews and Wilson delivers on all cylinders. One of the Tier One SEALs, Keith “Chunk” Redman, is ordered to run a new covert team, and he barely has time to get them up to speed before they are dropped into a situation. A possible link between illegal arms sales from the Chinese and an attack on the U.S. military in Afghanistan opens up a messy Pandora’s box. The masterminds behind the scenes are just getting started, with a bold plan to indoctrinate an engineer from London to fulfill their vendetta. Andrews and Wilson are true masters when it comes to intense military action. The writing has a cinematic flair, and the pacing drops readers directly into the heart of the scenes. The main cast members are delightful and seem authentic, doing a terrific job introducing newcomers to the Tier One world while also appealing to lifelong fans of their previous books.
VERDICT This book is a must-read for fans of covert-ops thrillers, and the authors are looking like the next Preston and Child.
