Charlie Swift’s ditzy partner, Gigi Goldman, takes center stage while Charlie convalesces from her bullet-in-buttocks injury at home. In a moment of dubious decision-making, Gigi agrees that Swift Investigations will take a missing-person case—that of her own ex-husband, sleazy embezzler Les Goldman. The client is none other than the husband-grabbing bimbo, Heather-Anne, but Gigi just can’t say no. Troubles magnify big-time when Heather-Anne turns up dead. Meanwhile, Charlie comes back to work trying to make rational sense of Gigi’s choices but instead compounds the mayhem while trapped in a snowstorm from hell.
VERDICT DiSilverio goes out on a limb writing her third series title (after Swift Edge) from Gigi’s point of view. Because of that, zaniness runs amok—this is marshmallow fluff at its best
