Jenny St. John moved from Iowa to Los Angeles, certain that stardom wasn’t far off. She even landed the lead in a groundbreaking film, thanks in large part to her talent and in small part to sleeping with the director. Richter makes an engaging, offbeat traditional-publishing debut with this neo-noir mystery about stardom and secrets. Narrator Hillary Huber gives an expressive performance. Paired with several twists and turns, her dramatic delivery creates a compelling listening experience.
