The Fixer Upper

Aly has a long history of dating “projects.” The relationships fail, yet somehow the men go on to certain success. Aly selflessly helped them meet education, career, and personal goals to make them each the perfect man—for their next girlfriend. Realizing that they can capitalize on those skills, her friends create a consulting group to outsource the emotional labor that has been stopping women from reaching their potential. When a socialite hires them to “fix” her sheepish suitor, who turns out to be Aly’s former best friend and first love, they realize that not everyone needs repairing. In this funny and flirtatious debut, Forsythe offers an upbeat contemporary romance with plenty of comedy and a closed-door heat level. Narrator Lily Howkins creates an engaging and expressive listening experience. Her lilting voice is a perfect complement to the likable characters, and her fast-paced delivery is well-matched to their witty banter and winsome antics.
