Still reeling from the untimely death of her sister, Sloane is ready for some relaxation away from her daughter, who is at summer camp, and her husband, who is getting on her nerves. She finds the perfect place for escape when her gallivanting aunt offers up her Lake George beach house. With her best friend Hillary in tow, Sloane heads to the lake, but when her estranged bestie Georgina invites herself along, the trip takes a turn for the less than tranquil. Georgina's presence takes Sloane back to her college days when the two summered at Lake George and Sloane had a memorable fling with the handsome Luke. When Luke resurfaces, Sloane starts to question her feelings for her husband. With Georgina as wild as ever and Hillary coming to terms with her own marital issues, Sloane's summer getaway has all three women dealing with heavier issues than the summer breeze should warrant.
VERDICT A beachy backdrop, relationship drama, and a summer fling potential make Liebert's third novel (after You Knew Me When and When We Fall) a perfect summer read, in the style of Elin Hilderbrand or Jane Green.
