Dawsyn Sabar finally understands the truth of the Ledge and has convinced her remaining people to dive into the unknown
Chasm rather than spend another day waiting for the Glacians to pluck them into a more horrifying fate. But the Chasm has monsters of its own, and the people have been against each other for too long—betrayal and suspicions are easily found, especially when Dawsyn herself has lied to them. As malevolent shadows move in the Chasm cavern, a sickness spreads through the camp. Meanwhile, the new King of Glacia and the Queen of Terrsaw are determined to find the stolen Ledge dwellers and continue to use them as sacrifices, taking their souls and making them serve the Glacians. With enemies on all sides and friends betraying them, Dawsyn and her friends prepare for war and the final battle to end the iskra magic that has hold of them all.
VERDICT The final installment in “The Glacian Trilogy” (after Chasm) is a worthy conclusion, intricate and surprising, and arguably the best in the series. Recommend to fantasy and romantasy readers who enjoy books with resilient heroines, such as Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros.
