What God Is Honored Here? Writings on Miscarriage and Infant Loss by and for Native Women and Women of Color

Gibney (See No Color) and Yang (The Song Poet) here bring together anecdotes of deep grief and hope. Contributing accounts of multiple losses to single losses, each writer shares a story that is moving and respectful. While most of the narratives are prose, a few poems punctuate the whole. Some writers discuss the impact of racism, both individual and systemic, on prenatal and birth care, while others opt to focus on their more tangible experiences. Though no doubt a challenging event to put into words, each woman’s account helps to translate the many emotions that come along with infant loss and miscarriage.
