On page 14 of the book The Last Thing He Told Me Hannah called Owen Ethan which he corrected her and said Ethan - can you explain this?

I am currently being mesmerized by the audio version of The Last Thing He Told Me. Growing up in the SF Bay Area, I’m very familiar with the geography and pronunciations of towns. Whenever read by the narrator , the town St. Helena was not pronounced the way the people of the area pronounce it. Curious if Laura Dave caught this as she listened to it being read. Also, in one part Hannah and Bailey spend the night in SF and it says they took the Bay Bridge to get there. But from Sausalito, one would just cross the nearby Golden Gate Bridge. Did any other readers pick up on this?

Your book, The Last Thing He Told Me was a great read which had me thinking about the characters long afterwards.

A bit of a silly but I have a question about the dock name you used for the house boats in Sausalito? I am curious if you have a connection to Issaquah, Washington or did you pick it from a map? It is just that I lived there for 19 years and have never heard the name referred to any where else. It is always intriguing to know a bit about an author's process.

Off to read my next Laura Dave novel!

Barbara

Loved your book The Last Thing He Told Me!
Meeting to discuss it at our book club tonite.
I think one of the best quotes that sums up your message to us “….people don’t tend to work that way. We have our opinion and we filter information into a paradigm that supports it.”
Whether we do this or experience it from others - it’s true. And it can be infuriating and hurtful! But how your character Hannah deals with that and maintains her mission - “protect her” - is a life lesson to be learned and wraps your story line and message all into one.
Thank you for a great read.
I will be looking at your other books now!
