A truly beautiful idea in spirit, and definitely one that should be visited someday. But currently this system can barely staff its buildings and can't get its materials to those building in anything close to a timely manner. Buildings are shut down due to inadequate/unsafe staffing levels, and wait times for in transit holds are topping the 3 week point. Funding for such a project may come from grants or donations, but make no mistake the staff time and resource cost will be significant, and I don't know if I would call focusing on this over basic foundational community library functions a responsible use of taxpayer resources.
