This Banned Books Week (9/22 to 9/28), Penguin Random House is celebrating the freedom to read and drawing attention to the destructiveness of censorship.
In order to shine a light on books that have been banned, they are doing an exclusive Banned Books Week Takeover of their First Look Book Club, in partnership with Dear Reader.
The First Look Book Club, a daily email excerpt program that goes out to 25K+ readers, was launched in 2014, and offers both librarians and patrons a great way to dip into some of the best new books, plus the opportunity to enter weekly book giveaways. During Banned Books Week, First Look Book Club will feature excerpts of classic banned books.
As part of the celebration, Penguin Random House is also sponsoring a Banned Books sweepstakes in which entrants will enter for a chance to win a banned books bundle, including a beautiful Banned Books Canvas Print and 5 iconic banned books: The Grapes Of Wrath by John Steinbeck, The Lord of the Flies by William Golding, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain, The Jungle by Upton Sinclair, and Beloved by Toni Morrison.
Penguin Random House has also created a fun quiz to help you decide what banned book you should read next.

Except no ones banning anything at all. They just want schools to have age appropriate books for kids. No one is stopping anyone reading them. And if we want to not ban books we should stop banning the Bible from schools. It would help kids the most.Posted : Sep 26, 2019 12:58
