Jason Reynolds and Nancy Pearl both expressed their ideas about Holocaust denial: SLJ even included a partial transcript with Kara Yorio's article. They are both responsible for their statements. Even if Pearl chooses to deflect any attention from Reynolds, the facts remain. I am troubled by the implications of absolving a distinguished and highly successful author of the consequences of his statements. Naturally, most people are far more interested in Jason Reynolds' comments than in those of a relatively unknown library professional. Pearl initially raised the issue, but then a conversation ensued and both participants contributed.

I'm dismayed to see a banner saying "not neutral" when, especially in public libraries, nearly half and in some regions, over half of our users and not on the left side of the political spectrum. Libraries and librarians become political only to their extreme detriment, and many of us do not subscribe to leftist ideologies as it is. This is a sad article and a sad statement about our profession.

Sadly the Peacebunny Foundation is under investigation for animal cruelty. Given how hard it can be to vet petty zoos and therapy animal organizations, perhaps ALA should substitute some adult coloring sessions or some other non-animal related stress reduction activities.

Just wanted to note since the positives of peacebunny are mentioned here, recent news has come out showing that the organization may not be as great as it seems, some would say it's nightmarish: https://bringmethenews.com/minnesota-news/living-nightmare-alleged-at-savage-minn-rabbit-sanctuary
