The Mississippi Delta guys are back on the road and loopier than ever. In Gavin’s debut, Ranchero, Nick Reid and sidekick Desmond fell heir to a potful of money in a confrontation with the Delta’s meth king. In this sequel, what to do with their newfound wealth confounds the two, who have never had this problem before. So they front Desmond’s ex-brother-in-law, Beluga LaMonte, in a mad scheme to steal a truckload of hot tires to sell on the black market. Stealing from a thief is seldom productive, and this simple act unleashes the wrath of the Mississippi Delta’s crime boss on Nick and his cohorts. Encounters with various West Memphis hoodlums, a teenage ninja, and a member of “the family” keep Nick and his troop on red alert as they dodge eminent danger while playing coy with local authorities. A love interest in the sheriff’s office adds a new element to a charming saga. ­
