Reinvestigating the crime that landed him in prison sets Ruddy on the trail of a possible serial killer. Cameron's protagonist is a perfect everyman who does his job and goes home, maybe drinks a few beers now and again. The cast that orbits him is a wonderfully dynamic assortment of oddballs.
VERDICT Carl Hiaasen fans will enjoy this entertaining follow-up to The Midnight Plan of the Repo Man, which was short-listed for the RUSA Reading List in 2015.
